I believe that everyone should give pottery a try at least once. That’s why we offer our one night workshops. We want to give you a fun, laid back chance to make something with pottery here in Hickory. Our teachers are ready to walk you through the process and help you if you mess up. This is a safe space for everyone! Grab a friend, show up, and let’s have some fun. (and yes, sometimes the fun will be laughing at ourselves!)

Mud Mamas Studio has a beautiful gift shop that features art from our local Mud Mama potters as well as other local artists. We have cyanotypes by Kat Evans, striking floral paintings by Jenne Fine Arts. Our Studio shop is located at 932 3rd Ave NW, Hickory. It’s the destination for local made art and gifts. We have just added several new classes our line up at Mud Mamas Studio in Hickory. We are starting once (or twice) monthly Saturday pottery workshops for kids! Best ages are 8 and up. We do encourage parents to stay with their children during the workshop. It’s a great way to spend your Saturday morning. So if you are in the Hickory area and are looking for something fun to do, Mud Mamas has you covered!

One of our favorite events of the year is our bi-annual Mud Mama Market. It’s a great way for the community to supports local artists! Our Mud Mama potters will be selling their wares as well as other local artists. We will have pottery, jewelry, paintings, and more. Our market will take place on May 6 from 10-3 at our studio on Old Lenoir Road.

Mud Mamas Studio is a community pottery studio based in Hickory, North Carolina.  We offer many pottery classes for anyone but focusing on the beginner potter.  If you love pottery, why not try to make your own? Our workshops are 2 hour classes that teach you how to hand build a particular project. All of our projects are geared for the beginner and meant to let you try something new while having fun!  We also offer 6 week classes…most of these classes are wheel classes. Learning to throw on the wheel is a bit more challenging and takes quite a bit of practice. We have a great group of teachers that are patient and encouraging. Don’t let a little challenge keep you from trying!
