SUMMARY:Master Class with Kim Ellington
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to host Catawba Valley potter\, Kim Ellington to our studio.  He will be teaching a master class on throwing big and showing several techniques to do so.  He will do demonstrations as well as hands on training.   \nKim Ellington is from Vale\, NC and has been making pottery for many years. He uses local clays\, ash glaze and groundhog kilns\, a tradition that began in the early 19th century. His adaptation of and proficiency in these time-honored techniques has resulted in his pottery being represented in museums\, private collections and ceramic exhibitions throughout the country.

DESCRIPTION:We are so delighted to host a reception for talented potter Kim Ellington.  He’s been a potter for the past 4 decades here in Catawba County.  He specializes in making Catawba Valley pottery using local clay and ash glaze to make durable\, wood fired stoneware for today.  \nLight hors d’ouevres will be served.  We are asking for a $15 donation to the event to support our studio.
