We will explore techniques for throwing larger forms\, lidded forms\, double-wall pieces\, adding surface design to pieces and trimming pieces on the potter’s wheel. This class is for students who are ready to develop their own style of ceramics and are encouraged to brainstorm ideas on what they want to make. \nClass Fee Includes:\nTwo-hour weekly class\nClay\nUse of studio equipment\nGlazes/Materials\nKiln firing access \n**Students will be allowed to make-up missed classes that will be subject to a studio fee of $45 per make-up class. \nStudents will need to bring:\nHand towel and apron\nBasic tool set\n**It is also recommended to trim your nails\, as short as you’re comfortable with\, to make working with the clay easier.

This class can also serve as a great refresher course of basic wheel skills: wedging\, centering\, raising\, trimming\, and glazing. This class is also perfect for anyone looking for a little help before moving on to the next level! Have you spent some time behind the pottery wheel but aren’t feeling quite centered yet? Register and learn to feel confident when raising and shaping walls into vase forms\, mugs and bowls. This class will meet on Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm for 6 consecutive weeks. SUMMARY:Intermediate Wheel Throwing
DESCRIPTION:Intermediate Wheel-Throwing with Expanded Techniques \n** Must have taken at least 2 Introductory Pottery Classes and is comfortable centering clay on the potter’s wheel. \nThis class will focus on expanding the throwing knowledge learned in the introductory classes. We will explore techniques for throwing larger forms\, lidded forms\, double-wall pieces\, adding surface design to pieces and trimming pieces on the potter’s wheel. This class is for students who are ready to develop their own style of ceramics and are encouraged to brainstorm ideas on what they want to make. \nClass Fee Includes:\nTwo-hour weekly class\nClay\nUse of studio equipment\nGlazes/Materials\nKiln firing access \n**Students will be allowed to make-up missed classes that will be subject to a studio fee of $45 per make-up class. \nStudents will need to bring:\nHand towel and apron\nBasic tool set\n**It is also recommended to trim your nails\, as short as you’re comfortable with\, to make working with the clay easier.
